Grades K -1 Tuesdays Sept - 12,19,26 Oct - 3,10,17,24,31 Nov - 14,21,28 Dec - 5,12,19 Jan - 2,9,16,23 2:30pm - 5:00pm"Recreational Math" is a fun and engaging program to practice mental arithmetic addition, subtraction, multiplication tables, division and more.Mental math (the ability to do math calculations in one's head) is an important skill for primary students required both to achieve academic success and in daily tasks that take place outside the classroom. It takes a lot of time and practice to master mental arithmetic. Our program is created to make this learning enjoyable and fun for children.During this course students will be challenged to use their brain and have fun while learning about the math of various entertaining subjects such as interactive platforms, puzzles, games and more. Students will progress from unplugged workshops to building their first block/symbol-based programs. Students will program their robots to move, spin, pick up objects, and more. They will be introduced to sensors that will allow their robots to respond to stimuli such as colors or obstacles. As a culminating event, students may participate in tournaments and games, such as navigating a maze.
