Come join in on the fun! Each week students complete fun little projects using Scratch Jr, an app inspired by MIT’s popular Scratch programming language and specifically designed for young children. Participants learn about Sequencing, Cause and Effect and other Computational Thinking concepts (which can be applied in fields other than Computer Science). They have a blast making characters move, jump, dance and sing by connecting graphical programming blocks. They will create their own interactive stories and games, and exercise their imagination and creativity. We also train robots to chase us around as puppies, and complete art projects using code that computers can understand.  All supplies provided!
Fee Transparency For transparency, Aurora Skills has elected to provide a breakdown of class/program fees to show the split between the program base cost and the PS6 School administrative costs.  The administrative cost is not a new cost; it has always been there baked into the overall program cost. We are now happy share with  our community the breakdown in the interest of transparency. Program base cost The base cost for the Coding program is $835 per student per semester. PS6 Afterschool administrative fee PS6 Afterschool programs also require access to the PS6 building, facilities, security, and custodianship; nursing coverage until 4PM; and ongoing facilitation and coordination across functions easily seen (like late pick-up on days when you need it) and back-office, no-spotlight work (like paying out city permits). PS6 Afterschool Administrative fee (includes nursing, permits, and coordination is – $160 per child per semester. In view of the above, the total cost per child per semester is: (a)          Coding base cost – $835.00 (b)          PS6 Admin fee       – $160.00 Total – $995.00 Refund Policy Aurora Skills may issue pro-rated refunds upon request, minus the cost of any classes that took place before the refund request. Refund requests must be submitted by September 20, 2025. Refunds will incur deductions for the cost of the classes that occurred prior to the request, plus a 4% bank processing fee of the total amount for the class in which the refund was requested.
