"Recreational Math" is a fun and engaging program to practice mental arithmetic addition, subtraction, multiplication tables, division and more.
Mental math (the ability to do math calculations in one's head) is an important skill for primary students required both to achieve academic success and in daily tasks that take place outside the classroom. It takes a lot of time and practice to master mental arithmetic. Our program is created to make this learning enjoyable and fun for children.
During this course students will be challenged to use their brain and have fun while learning about the math of various entertaining subjects such as interactive platforms, puzzles, games and more. They will also learn about famous recreational mathematicians. Curriculum written by PS 6 teachers. *Please complete the Registration Form here BEFORE registering. • 3D printing is a process for making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model by laying down many successive thin layers of material. It brings a digital object into its physical form by adding layer by layer of materials. In this class, we will use the design program ‘Tinkercad’ to create digital models that we can then print using a 3D printer. Following a design process, students will imagine, plan, and create 3D models out of plastic filament.
