Ocean Explorers: Journey to Becoming a Marine Biologist is a course designed to expose students to the profession of marine biology. Students will complete experiments and projects to gain an understanding of the ocean and its many inhabitants. Students will conduct an in-depth analysis of a sea turtle, learning details about different types of sea turtles and will even adopt their very own plush sea turtle. As a class, students will work together to rescue, rehabilitate and release a Leatherback sea turtle. The young Marine Biologist will enjoy under water experiments each week as they learn and explore. The class culminates with the sea turtle release as the students graduate and become Junior Marine Biologists.
