Learning to code at any age is beneficial to students. Similar to learning another language, early exposure can help a child pick it up with confidence and ease With coding, the earlier children learn coding fundamentals - they can apply it to any programming language they study over time.
This class provides a fun and engaging way for young children to learn and apply key coding concepts. During the class, they will program their own interactive games, stories, and animation. Kids have a blast solving problems, designing projects and creatively expressing themselves.
NOTE: Parental assistance may be required.
Have you ever wanted to make your own movie? In this class, you will record and edit your very own movies. Course Description: This class provides a powerful learning tool for budding programmers– using an advanced block coding format, Scratch teaches fundamental programming concepts also used in more complex languages such as Java and Python.
Young students will learn these critical concepts by creating animations and computer games with interacting characters. Students will apply problem-solving skills to debug programs, make customizations and bring their imaginations to life!
3D printing is a process for making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model by laying down many successive thin layers of material. It brings a digital object into its physical form by adding layer by layer of materials. In this class, we will use the design program ‘Tinkercad’ to create digital models that we can then print using a 3D printer. Following a design process, students will imagine, plan, and create 3D models out of plastic filament.
